Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is a well-developed form of therapy that has a variety of uses in the clinical field. Although it has been well adapted over the years, the current device used in clinic is an effective machine that is used primarily in musculoskeletal conditions.
Mechanism
The machine emits low-energy waves that cause cellular responses in a small radius of the area of contact. The device uses biomechanical messages to induce positive cellular responses that work to:

Shockwave therapy is not currently covered by MSP in the province of British Columbia. However, some extended health care plans may cover it, so it is best to check with your provider for more information.
